Fanfics...
May. 2nd, 2005 11:31 pmSo. Fanfics. I have been consumed lately by fanfics. Reading, yes (as usual), but also, most definitely, writing. I feel pathetic about taking up the gauntlet again... The last time I tried to fic it was awful... But really the point of the upcoming saga (which I suppose I shall put on my website) is to showcase and mood-match for one of the most awesome muscial artists ever: Kenna. I fell in total love with his album "New Sacred Cow" and it is my great ambition to do a fic for each of the songs on the cd, totaling 13 fics.
This begs the question: will the fics be songfics or music-vid fics? The answer is no...or neither, depending on how one reads the question. Each fic will be written with a particular song in mind, and that song will be listed and possibly the lyrics will be put at the beginning, but it's not going to be one of those things where there's two lines of narration and a couple of lyrics. I think that format's stupid and intrusive on the story.
Another question: what fandom shall they be? Answer: Weiss Kreuz. Why? Mostly because I can see it so clearly. The album and my perceptions of the characters mesh very, very well. I'm planning for it to be Aya and Yohji centric. Centric, not necessarily yaoi. I at least want them to be friends first. ^_^ Though there are definitely parts of the album that would make some lovely yaoi limes or lemons.
Yet another question: Will the story-arc run in order of the album? Answer: probably not. My original ideas spanned a mere four tracks (#2, #4, #8, and #5, in that order.) I never planned to have the arc in order of the tracks: the fics really wouldn't follow my Grand Plan of Storyline if I kept the songs in their given order, although some of them will still be in order. Not that my Grand Plan of Storyline encompasses anything very specific.
Another question: What is/are your favorite track/s on New Sacred Cow? I absolutely adore track number six,"Redman". It's sexy and angsty, and just a little electronic. The lyrics are fantastic, too. I also am very fond of track three: "Man Fading". I really encourage the purchase of this cd! It was even cheap, too: $11.99 at Borders. It wasn't too hard to find, either, although I'm pretty sure I purchased the only copy the store had in stock.
Enough of my silly digressions! ^_^
Ciao!
