Dinner is for Wimps ...Or for the Brave?
Apr. 9th, 2006 08:24 pmSo I ate dinner at the cafe, which was a huuuge mistake. Rubber masquerading as fish is a bad sign of the capabilities of a food service. Now I am eating dinner #2, from the Galley... which is probably much worse for me than dinner 1, but at least it tastes better.
My real reason for doing this entry is to put up my Adventures in Torrey Hall! ^_^ I was under the (apparently mistaken) impression that the Anime Club here on campus was showing a movie tonight. So I go over to the appointed room of Torrey ten minutes before seven. And I wait. I wait some more. I wait fifteen minutes, shuffling back and forth in the room, the hall, and outdoors. No one comes. So, I head back over to my dorm room, grab a couple discs of anime, and head back to Torrey. I figure it this way: regardless of anyone showing up or not, the Anime Club has the room booked for the evening. If someone comes, I can turn my anime off and watch the movie we're supposed to be watching. If no one comes, I have a grand old time by my lonesome, watching anime on a big ass screen with surround sound and a sub-woofer. If security comes, I can tell them the truth: we're supposed to be meeting here, the room is booked, and I'm waiting for the other members of the club. At this point, I can flash my membership card to prove I'm not some random bum sneaking around in rooms full of expensive equipment.
What happens? I watch my anime for half an hour and get creeped out. One of the professors purportedly likes that particular room as he believes it's haunted. I admit to being a big chicken, but you try being in a room in a building where there's no one but you and plenty of eerie noises! I couldn't sit alone in the dark any more, and turning the lights on made horrible glare. So, I packed up and found some food to eat. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! XD
I'd love to know what happened to everyone else!
~Ciao!
