So...
Per the usual, I've been working hard this week. I've really tried to focus on completing the next chapter for Two if by Sea, and I think I may have something to share within the next couple of days. I kind of left myself in a difficult spot, writing wise, when I finished the previous chapter, and the intervening months have only magnified the difficulty. Thank goodness I'd already plotted out what was supposed to be happening between here and the end of the story! Even so, new ideas keep cropping up. I must resist the urge to write them all in!
Speaking of new ideas, I've been frittering away some time this week working on the follow-ups to Visitors. It's coming along well, considering that when I finished the final chapter, I wasn't planning on doing anything more immediately. It's another slow-growing project. World building is hard work! So, for that matter, is making plots.
I've been working on a wonky Schwartz AU, too, which is kind-of-sort-of about Crawford convincing Schuldig to make non-Mpreg babies with him, when Schuldig is totally against having kids and has, thus far, been avoiding the Familial Reproductive Duties. I still haven't pinned down a lot of the details for this new urban-supernatural type universe. I'm kind of working in a vacuum: I know, more or less, how Schuldig and Crawford interact with each other, but I'm still trying to make their backstories digestible: I don't want to to a bunch of boring exposition, but I don't want to leave readers scratching their heads and wondering what the heck is going on. (I'm probably making things extra hard on myself, too, considering this story is actually being translated/extrapolated from a weird dream I had...)
It shouldn't take too much more time for me to finish, edit, and polish the next chapter of Two if by Sea, which makes me happy. I really like feeling accomplished at the end of a chapter or story. I wish I was able to finish things all the time!
