Thing 1 and Thing 2

So... Thing 1 isn't strictly for the weekend challenge, but it's something I've been trying to get somewhere with since the prompt-filled months of January and February over at saiyuki_wk_au. I didn't get very far in tackling what turned out to be an amazing, epically rich crossover, and I know I didn't do it justice. But! At least I tried, right? The original idea was to cross Weiss over with Ian Tregillis's Milkweed books, which are an alternate history starting more or less at World War II with psychic-powered Nazis and British warlocks who can summon and bargain with non-Euclidian beings identified as Eidolons.

I tried a couple of times on Thing 1, which lent itself all too well to alternate timelines and saying "what if X happened?" and then, immediately, "well, what if Y happened?" I have tried, in this post, to organize these fragments so that the ones that belong together are together. Anything marked off with a bunch of these ++++++ is a separate try.

***A touch of background for those of you who have not read the books: von Westarp is the Nazi-funded scientist who developed the psychic-powered soldiers (though he started the program years before the Nazis came to power.) The soldiers do their thing via an electric current wired directly into their brains. The Eidolons are virtually omnipresent and omnipotent and all those other omni-words, have only an oblique understanding of our world. Blood prices allow them to further expand their understanding of humanity. Eidolons are not benign.***

Thing 2 was something fresh from this week, just in time for the weekend challenge set forth by indelicateink. I don't think I'm done with it yet, so I guess it could be classed as WIP? Anyway. I had a sudden craving for girl!Schuldig. Not a weird-experiment-gone-wrong Schuldig, not a bodyswapped Schuldig. Just...Schuldig as a girl, having always been a girl.

The short version is this: Girl!Schuldig is put under Crawford's leadership in an attempt by Rozenkreuz to have them fail as a team. Only...they don't fail and things start to deviate from Rozenkreuz's plans... This stuff I’ve started is pre-Nagi, so it’s Crawford, Schuldig, and Farfarello trying not to kill each other and do what they’re told in the early days. (Fuzzy logic and fuzzier plots are my friends! XD) I have not yet gotten to the planned angry het sex between Schu and...whoever I can wangle into her bed.

And, as with thing 1, I've got a few smaller pieces to share and not one cohesive bit, so the +++++ separates the pieces from each other. They do, however, all belong to the same chain of events. Apologies for the stop-starting!
